Mike Rinaldi said that he always had an entrepreneurial spirit, when he realized that college or the corporate world was not for him and started thinking of ways to start his own business.

Mike was fortunate enough to have a good friend refer him to a pool service business when he first started in the pool business. Today, with over 32 years’ experience, knowledge from left-to right on pool services. Mike couldn’t ask for a better business partner than Dianne (his wife), who helped him to take the pool service business to the next level.

Mike and Diane are the sole owners of their business since 2020 when they launched the brand name “Pool patrol”, they said. They have put their blood and sweat to build the business and had been through the two major recessions, but survived due to their persistence. When they started the Pool Patrol, they had to win a few challenges - getting used to new internet tools and registering their business meeting tedious government and state regulations. They also had challenges in establishing a client base because it is not easy when you are on the scene with a new brand name!

In our conversation, Mike said that the pool industry has grown so much in the last 10 years. “It's a dynamic business where automation was combined with home technologies like remote controls and security systems to give you even greater control of your outdoor space from anywhere.”

Fortunately, their swimming pool business boomed during the pandemic when people were enjoying their backyards while being stuck at homes, which was a silver lining during the difficult time for many other businesses.  

Today, they are constantly looking for ways to improve the company. They plan to offer 401K, provide PTO and pay attention to employee needs by offering competitive wages with benefits including healthcare coverage all in an effort keep their employees happy! In the next few years, they look forward to growing the business to a bigger scale and getting their name out in the market.
